The Certificate IV in Education Support Certificate has not only given me a Nationally Recognised Qualification, I have gained a depth of knowledge and competencies in many areas, which is relevant to my position as a Learning Support Officer.

The content of the course has given me a wide range of knowledge and confidence in many areas including; an awareness of cultural diversities, how to facilitate LD students in oral language, literacy, mathematics and behaviour management of students.

A great course delivered by a very skilled and knowledgeable trainer. I loved the experience and would recommend this course and EduTrain Australia to anyone considering updating their skills.

Before the course began, I was a little apprehensive about what the expectations would be but after the first session, I had a clearer idea. Paul was a great presenter who gave us a wealth of knowledge and practical ideas to use in the classroom. I really enjoyed the course and found it interesting and applicable to what I do with my students at my school. I definitely have more confidence now working with a variety of students who have different needs.

I have often reflected on the great change that this course has made to my work. I have a greater understanding of the possibilities for supporting students and a much stronger self belief in the role that I can play in advocating on behalf of these students to ensure that their needs are met and not discounted as behavioural problems.

I have worked as a Learning Support Officer for 13 years and have plenty of experience working with children. However, participating in this course has been an  invaluable experience for me as it has enhanced my education and broadened my knowledge in specific areas that I previously was not confident in. For example, I was encouraged to reflect on areas that I felt needed improvement, my knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders was broadened and my skills regarding behaviour management have improved. The course was delivered by Paul Deegan who was both engaging and understanding. I highly recommend this course and would encourage anyone working in this field to enrol.
